India and Pakistan are set to lock horns against each other in a high-octane clash in the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15.

However, as per reports, the high voltage clash between the arch-rivals is likely to be rescheduled due to security reasons.

As per media reports, India vs Pakistan match will be clashing with the first day of Navratri, which is celebrated with pump and gaiety across Gujarat, including the venue of the match Ahmedabad. The reports state that security agencies have advised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to tweak the schedule for the high-voltage game.

“We are mulling the options that we have and a decision  in this regard will be taken soon. We have been told by the security agencies that a high-profile game like India vs Pakistan, for which thousands of travelling fans are expected to reach Ahmedabad, should be avoided since they will be stretched because of Navratri,” said a top BCCI official.

Notably, most hotels in Ahmedabad are already over-booked in anticipation of the October 15 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. Even hospitals are reportedly booked for the upcoming blockbuster. Moreover, there is also massive surge in airfares to Ahmedabad around the date.
