Hardik Pandya as the new captain of Mumbai Indians (MI) has become a nightmare for fans who once whole-heartedly supported the franchise. Every cricket lover and even MI supporters expressed resentment toward the management and Pandya for replacing everyone’s favourite Rohit Sharma.

Pandya has been subjected to heavy trolling by furious fans ever since he replaced Rohit. Not just Pandya, fans are not even sparing his wife and actress Natasha. Social media is filled with brutal trolling for Pandya with the hashtag #Chapri trending on X (formerly known as Twitter).

On the other hand, MI has lost both of their first two games. Now, with the next match scheduled at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to prevent trolling.

Aware of the current wrath of fans, MCA has bolstered security and decided to arrest the fans who will troll Pandya during the match. Anyone caught trolling, harassing Pandya will be detained and will potentially be ejected from the stadium, a crictoday report said.

However, it will still be a challenge for security personnel to contain Pandya’s trollers among the spectators during Mumbai’s home game against Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Meanwhile, Pandya is yet to register a win as the captain of MI in IPL 2024. MI suffered a humiliating defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad after Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Klassen propelled SRH to a historic 277 runs, the highest score in the IPL history.
