Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes is probably the all-time greatest fielder in world cricket. He has been appointed as the fielding coach of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

Well, Jonty is not only a famous fielder, but he is also popular for his humility. He is a great ambassador of the gentleman’s game as well. The former South African great always inspires and motivates others with his great and selfless acts. After the ugly spat between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batsman and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir, one of Jonty’s acts has won several hearts over the internet.

Rain started to pour down heavily during an encounter between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and LSG at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday. The ground staff started pulling the covers immediately to keep the pitch safe. An aware Rhodes was also quick enough to give a helping hand to them. In the process, the former cricketer won hearts on the ground and on the internet.

Unfortunately, the match ended with no result due to the heavy rain.

Put into bat first, LSG were 125 for the loss of seven wickets in 19.2 overs when it started to rain. Ayush Badoni (59 no, 33b, 2x4, 4x6) batted brilliantly lower down the middle order to resurrect LSG’s innings who were looking down the barrel after losing some early wickets.
