The tough contest between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday proved to be a tumultuous affair due to the altercation between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir.

Following the incident, former Team India spinner Harbhajan Singh has recollected the infamous slapgate incident with S Sreesanth during the 2008 edition of the cash-rich league. As per Bhajji, things like slapgate incident and altercation between Kohli and Gambhir are not good for cricket.

“I am ashamed of what I did with Sreesanth in 2008. Virat Kohli is a legend, should not get involved in such things. Whatever happened between Virat and Gambhir was not right for cricket,” tweeted Harbhajan.

Notably, the altercation between Kohli and Gambhir occurred during the break between the 16th and 17th over because by Kohli’s exchange with LSG’s Naveen-ul-Haq. The match ended with an awkward handshake between Naveen and Kohli. The Afghanistan speedster appeared visibly upset during the period.

Subsequently, there was an altercation between Kohli and Gambhir over the incident after the match.
