Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batsman Virat Kohli is facing the wrath of the fans on various social media platforms after his spat with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor and former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday.

In the aftermath of the incident, an old video of Gambhir and Kohli is now going viral on the social media space. The old video clip was about Gambhir giving away his man of the match award to a young Kohli.

The old clip is from a game between India and Sri Lanka in 2009. While Kohli hit his maiden ODI ton in the game, Gambhir scored a marathon ton of 150. The two stitched together a huge partnership of 224 runs to help India knock down the target of 316 runs for a resounding seven-wicket victory.

Reacting about his heart-warming gesture, Gambhir had earlier heaped praise on Kohli for his first ODI hundred during an interview.

“I didn’t do anything I shouldn’t have done. You might go on to score 100 international hundreds, which I am sure he will because that’s the kind of player he is but you will always remember your first international hundred. I remember my first international hundred that was in Bangladesh and the first ODI hundred against Sri Lanka,” Gambhir had said.
