IPL 2023: Hardik Pandya surpasses MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma to achieve this huge IPL milestone

Team India all-rounder and Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya has achieved a significant milestone in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL). The aggressive all-rounder now holds the record of the most successful IPL captain in terms of winning percentage (minimum 20 matches). 

With a winning percentage of 75, Pandya has led GT to 15 victories out of 20 matches. Under his leadership, the team has lost only five games so far. With this unique record, Hardik has surpassed the likes of MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. Dhoni and Rohit have winning percentages of 58.99 and 56.08 respectively.

Hardik’s leadership skills with GT have helped him earn a spot in the captaincy group of Team India. Pandya has been leading the Indian T20I side since the 2022 World Cup. He also serves as Rohit’s deputy in the ODI format.

Earlier in 2022, Hardik made waves in the cricket world when he led GT to a title win in their debut season of the IPL. Though the aggressive all-rounder had no prior experience as an IPL captain, he defied expectations and led his team to become the first to qualify for the playoffs and ultimately win the title of the mega event.
