Delhi Capitals will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants in their Indian Premier League 2023 season opener in an away game on April 1.

As per newly-appointed Delhi Capitals captain David Warner, all the members of the team are more motivated to win the IPL 2023 title in the absence of injured Rishabh Pant. They have vowed to put extra effort in their quest for their maiden title.

Notably, Pant suffered a horrific car accident last December and currently, he is recovering fast. Pant has been ruled out of the recently-concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy, ongoing ODI series against Australia and the upcoming season of cash-rich IPL.

Aggressive Australian opener Warner was recently named as the skipper of the Delhi Capitals. The burly batter sent out a special message for the Indian wicket-keeper batsman, who is currently undergoing rehab and recovery.

“We are motivated every season, but we are motivated even more to lift the title this year in your absence,” captain Warner said in a statement issued by Delhi Capitals.

“We are going to be on the journey of your recovery with you. We are going to send some special messages and hopefully, you can come to one of our games. On behalf of the DC family, I would like to wish you all the best and a speedy recovery," the aggressive skipper added.

Meanwhile, Pant has recently shared a video in which he has sent a signal that he is recovering fast from his injury. In the video, Pant is seen walking with a stick in a swimming pool.
