Team India has a poor start in their ongoing South Africa tour. After the first T20 was washed out, the Suryakumar Yadav-led team suffered a five wicket loss in the rain-affected second T20I.

In his response to India’s defeat, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir slammed the team management for excluding World No.1 T20 bowler Ravi Bishnoi from playing XI.

“If the world No.1-ranked T20I bowler is not in your Playing XI... and this is not your main team - you are giving youngsters chances here. Only Suryakumar Yadav and the team management can provide some clarity,” said Gambhir during an interaction.

Former spinner Piyush Chawla also said that Bishnoi should have played in the second T20I.

“The way Ravi Bishnoi performed in the previous series; he should have played. He has recently topped the ICC rankings and hence, he would definitely be disappointed,” said Chawla.

From now on, the BCCI selectors have only four more T20Is and the IPL to select their team combination for the upcoming T20I World Cup 2024.
