The heartbreaking 18-run loss to New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semifinal still haunts every Indian. However, every Indian was shattered after MS Dhoni got run out. Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja tried his best to change the game for India but in vain. The humiliating loss left millions of Indian fans’ hearts broken while Dhoni seemingly burst into tears.
Well, it seems like history has repeated itself as India is all set to clash with New Zealand in the 2023 World Cup semifinal at the Wankhede Stadium on November 15 in Mumbai.
Now, cricket fans want the Men in Blue, especially Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli to avenge the humiliating defeat.
Fans have high hopes on Virat Kohli who is currently in terrific form and hit his 49th ODI century in the last match against South Africa. Now, a placard of a fan requesting Kohli to avenge MS Dhoni’s runout in the 2019 semifinal has taken over social media.
The placard reads, “Baap Ka, Dada Ka, Mahi Bhai Ke Runout Ka Sabka Badla Lega Tera Chiku”.
Now, Indians have their fingers crossed and want Virat to avenge the 2019 loss to New Zealand reach the Finals, and subsequently lift the World Cup this year.
