Despite BCCI’s decision not to send Team India to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is determined to host the event and has found a way to include the Men in Blue in the competition.

As per reports, Pakistan is likely to host the 2023 Asia Cup with another overseas venue for hosting India matches. Though the overseas venue is yet to be confirmed, UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka and England are the potential options as of now.

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are in Group A along with a qualifier. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are in Group B. The top two teams will advance into the Super 4 stage. The 2023 Asia Cup will be played in the ODI format considering the upcoming ODI World Cup.

Earlier in response to India’s decision, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had threatened to withdraw from the World Cup 2023 to be played in India. Many former cricketers of the country have voiced their support for PCB and urged Pakistan not to tour India.

Notably, the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 will be played in a 50-over format in September-October. India will be hosting the World Cup in October-November.
