Former Team India and current Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni has made an emotional return to the Men in Blue’s dugout ahead of the third ODI against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday.

A picture of Dhoni sitting in Team India’s dugout at the Chennai stadium has gone viral over various social media platforms.

CSK social media team shared Dhoni’s picture with the caption, “Main pal do pal ka shayar hoon...”

Dhoni has a long-standing relation with the stadium as he is part of the CSK since the inception of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

Notably, the ‘Captain Cool’ had previously served as Team India’s mentor in the T20 World Cup 2021. It was his last association with the national team in any capacity.

Though speculation is rife that Dhoni will retire from IPL after 2023, his former India and CSK teammate Harbhajan Singh has revealed that the wicket-keeper batsman will retire from the cash-rich league in his own way just like he did with India’s Test captaincy and international cricket.

Meanwhile, Dhoni’s another former India and CSK teammate Suresh Raina has indicated that Dhoni may continue in IPL after the 2023 season depending upon his fitness level and performance in the upcoming edition.
