Team India’s senior batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were bowled by fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi in the high-voltage encounter against Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup on Saturday. Star batsman Virat Kohli’s gingerly foot movement and wrong shot selection cost him his wicket.

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir slammed Kohli for his indecisiveness against Shaheen Afridi.

“That was a nothing shot, neither forward, neither back. I think was a bit casual. That is what you get when you play someone like Shaheen Afridi. You don’t know whether to go forward or back,” said Gambhir in his commentary.

However, the likes of former Pakistan great Waqar Younis and Australia legend Matthew Hayden termed Shaheen’s delivery to Rohit as an outstanding one. As per them, Kohli was a tad unlucky to get an inside edge back onto his stumps.

“Kohli was a touch unlucky. Inside edge, the ball didn’t come on to bat and maybe even kept a bit low. But credit to Shaheen Shah Afridi for altering his length,” said Younis.

Hayden also agreed with former Pakistan speedster.

“Yeah, inside edge onto the stumps, could have got anywhere,” said Hayden.
