Like every Indian cricket lover, the teammates were hopeful of lifting the World Cup Trophy and had given their sweat and blood in the tournament. However, the dream of billion-plus Indians was shattered on Sunday.

The Rohit Sharma-led team was primed to take revenge for the loss to Australia in the 2003 World Cup Final. However, what happened was that the Australian brilliance again came to the fore when it mattered the most.

The red-hot form Indian batting line-up could not make a challenging total score and were all out for just 240. On the other hand, the brilliant bowling line of Shami, Bumrah, Siraj, Kuldeep, and Jadeja could not claim the wicket of Australia’s Travis Head who scored a brilliant century to ensure his team’s win.

Like every Indian, opener Shubman Gill shared a heartfelt note after the heartbreaking loss and revealed how he was still hurt. His emotional post has been now going viral with fans pouring in support for him.

Taking to his social media handle, Gill shared, “Been almost 16 hours but still hurts like it did last night. Sometimes giving your everything isn’t enough. We fell short of our ultimate goal but every step in this journey has been a testament to our team’s spirit and dedication. To our incredible fans, your unwavering support in our highs and lows means the world to us. This isn’t the end, it’s not over until we win. Jai Hind 🇮🇳”
