As many as three persons were injured in a clash that reportedly broke out between the BJD and the BJP workers during campaigning for the forthcoming Panchayat elections at Badhia village under Chandbali block in Bhadrak district on Saturday

The injured, from both sides, were initially admitted to Chandbali Community Health Centre and later shifted to Bhadrak District Headquarters hospital as their condition deteriorated.

As per reports, supporters of both the parties were campaigning in support of their respective candidates in the village when a heated exchange of words escalated between them over some issue and they started attacking each other.

Later, both the parties lodged separate complaints against each other at Chandbali police station. Police have launched an investigation after registering the cases.

Meanwhile, security forces have been deployed at the spot to maintain law and order.

“An argument over a trivial thing led to the violent clash between both the party workers,” said Chandbali IIC Karunakar Rout.

He further informed that a police team has been deployed at the spot and things are under control now. "An investigation into the incident has been launched," he added.
