The leading political parties have intensified the campaigns for their respective candidates as the day for Dhamnagar by-poll is inching closer. Several star campaigners are promoting for their respective candidates and seeking votes with alluring promises.

As per reports, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, and Bishweswar Tudu, and the party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra have joined the campaign today. While Pradhan conducted a mega road show in Sendhapur Bazar of Sohada panchayat and campaigned in Dobal, Dhamnagar, Dhusuri, Asurali, and Lunia, Tudu held a ‘padyatra’ in Ishwarpur and Shyamsundarpur panchayat.

On the other hand, several big leaders of BJD are campaigning for their candidate Abanti Das. Even campaigning of independent candidate Rajendra Das and Congress candidate Harekrushna Sethi is in full swing.

“Voters across India have extended their support for BJP and their trust towards Narendra Modi is increasing day by day. Vishnu Sethi was a hardworking and devoted leader. His sudden demise was a shock. Currently, the support of voters for his son Suryavanshi and entrusting Manmohan Samal says it all. I am confident that their trust in Narendra Modi, Manmohan Samal, and Vishnu Sethi and now on Suryavanshi, will bring glorious results,” said Pradhan.

Similarly, Tudu said, “I am repeating myself. Voters have exuded confidence in BJP as earlier Manmohan ji and Vishnu Sethi have won here. Late Vishnu Sethi’s son and our candidate will get immense support from the voters, and he will emerge victorious.”

Meanwhile, Congress MLA Sura Routray said, “I had never imagined that within seven days only, such a major change will happen. People have gone away from Narendra Modi due to the inflation and earlier had gone away from Naveen Patnaik. Baba Harekrushna Sethi is an intellectual and has earned the trust of people.”

On the other hand, State Chief Electoral Officer visited Basudevpur to inspect the preparations for the upcoming by-elections. CEO Sushil Lohani stressed on maintaining the ‘Model Code of Conduct’ during a meeting with the district collector and Superintendent of Police.

CEO Lohani said that bribing voters or threatening them is a serious crime and a punishable offense according to the law. Further, Lohani has asked to upload photos or videos of any such incident violating the ‘Model Code of Conduct’ on the C-Vigil mobile app. The CEO also assured that action will be taken within 100 minutes of receiving the complaint.
