Even as the workers and leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been staging protests for about a month against the garbage dumping by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation at Gadakana, the party’s state unit president Manmohan Samal asserted that the BJP will come to power in Odisha after four months and there will be no trace of garbage at Gadakana in 72 hours.

Speaking at the protest rally near the Sainik School, Samal said that the central government has provided crores of rupees to the state government for disposal of garbage, but the latter has failed to do that.
“Our party workers have been staging a sit-in for a month. The government should address the issue as soon as possible,” he added.

He also warned the government, saying.”I give you four months to sort out the issue. If this government fails to end the garbage dumping by April, the BJP government will come in May and not a gram of garbage will be found at the place in 72 hours, even if one tries to look for it with a microscope.”

He also added that his party will also clean the city within 72 hours after coming to power. Besides, no issues will be left to linger for years and all issues will be resolved immediately, he observed.
“This government has spoiled the dream that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had seen to make Bhubaneswar a Smart City,” he added.

However, the reaction of the BJD has not been received.
