It is rightly said that love has no language. And this young couple, both deaf and dumb from birth, proved that love needs no words as it is the universal language from the heart. Their love has transcended all the language barriers and proved that if you are truly in love, it is the hearts that speak.

Birajini Naik from Sundargarh was deaf and dumb from birth. Despite her disability, she was a meritorious student and is highly educated.

While she was studying, her family members were worried about who would marry their daughter. Like a scene straight out of a Bollywood movie, Birajini happened to come across Rajasthan’s Deendayal Meena on Facebook. The two started chatting and became good friends.

Soon their friendship blossomed into love and the duo finally tied the knot with the blessings of their family members. It was not the usual wedding ceremony. The couple did not hear guests who shouted their lungs out in congratulatory messages. Nor were they able to speak out in appreciation. It was their hearts and physical actions that communicated.

The colourful marriage ceremony was solemnized at a temple in Rourkela’s Vedvyas as per all the rituals and traditions.

“I’m very happy that my daughter has found love and is marrying the man of her choice. What more would I have asked for as a mother,” said Namita Naik, Birajini’s mother.

“I got a phone call from the girl’s father that our son wanted to marry their daughter. So, we all came here together and the marriage was solemnized in the presence and blessings of all the family members. I assume this is all god’s plan,” Deendayal’s father Hari Om Meena said.

Similarly, Deendayal's sister Sakina Meena said, “We are happy because they are happy. The whole family is happy for them. Most importantly, the marriage was solemnized with the blessings of family members of both of them.”
