If everything goes well, ration card beneficiaries in Bhubaneswar will get their quotas of rice from rice ATMs. 
Yes, you read that right.  

Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Thursday informed about the inauguration of Rice ATM in Bhubaneswar. 

He said ration card beneficiaries will be provided with a card. To get their quota of rice, they need to insert a specific card in a Rice ATM and the machine will dispense the specific amount of rice. 

For the first time, this service will be launched in Bhubaneswar in the coming one week and subsequently such machines will be set up in other districts as well, said the Minister.

“The visit of the officials of the World Food Programme has encouraged us a lot. We will acquire technology like Rice ATMs from them. It will soon be inaugurated in Bhubaneswar. In the coming days, each district will have such machines,” he added.
