Silicone cookware may contain unsafe chemical compounds or additives. Limited evidence exists to support the unsafe effects of silicone kitchenware, but nothing confirms its safety and reliability either. 

Though the majority of silicone kitchenware is heat-resistant, different silicone cookware has varying heat tolerance.

As advocated by experts, though the silicon-made appliances are chemically stable, thereby non-toxic, if highly heated, silicone cooking utensils may melt. As a result, silicone liquid may contaminate the food when heated above the fixed limit of 220 °C or 428 °C.

 
Also, while cooking in silicone cookware, chemically induced coating may escape into the air and be harmful to the lungs.
 
Numerous silicone utensils and containers are utilised to cook as well as store the leftover meals, chopped fruits and vegetables, and other food items and the chemicals might get transferred to the food, thereby harming our health.
 
Silicone is neither biodegradable nor recyclable, therefore it is harmful to the environment as well.
 
If you still need to buy them, buy those that are e 100% silicone. Alternatively, you can invest in these alternative cookware.

Alternatives To Replace Silicone Kitchenware:

Earthen Pots: Ayurveda suggests cooking food in earthen or clay pots as they provide more benefits and flavorful meals.
 
Stainless steel is a fantastic choice for non-toxic, long-lasting cookware that is suitable for boiling, sautéing, and baking.
