The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued notification for the Combined Medical Services (CMS) examination 2021.

A total of 838 vacancies with CMS 2021 will be filled by the UPSC through this recruitment drive.

The application process has already started and the candidates can apply till July 27(6 pm). The exam is scheduled to be conducted on November 21, as per the official notification issued by UPSC.

The Services/Posts to which recruitment is to be made and the approximate number of vacancies to be filled are given below

:- Category-I Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Service - 349

Category-II (i) Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways: 300

(ii) General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council: 05

(iii) General duty Medical Officer Gr-II in East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and South Delhi Municipal Corporation: 184

Important Instructions: The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website -upsconline.nic.in for downloading by candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post.

Age Limit: A candidate for this examination must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st August, 2021, i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1989. However, for Junior Time Scale Posts in Central Health Services, the upper age limit must not exceed 35 (thirty-five years) on the aforesaid cut-off date.

The upper age limit is relaxable as follows.

-A maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.

- A maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

- Upto a maximum of three years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof.

A candidate who has appeared or has yet to appear at the final M.B.B.S. Examination may also apply. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination if otherwise eligible but the admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation, if they do not produce proof of having passed the written and practical part of the final M.B.B.S.
