If your hands have tremors or shakes while meeting someone or doing some work then you need to find out the exact cause behind it.

It is not necessary that the cause can be something serious but it surely can be a symptom of some mental or physical illness which if tracked at the earliest can be treated effectively.

Triggers due to anxiety

Tremors can be triggered by anxiety and are the protective or defensive responses of the body system. Many times due to anxiety there is a rise in blood pressure as a result of which the adrenaline supply also increases.

It accelerates the heartbeat and causes the muscles to shiver and shake.

Alcohol withdrawal

Addiction to alcohol can lead to a lot of health issues. And when you try to quit drinking your body starts showing withdrawal symptoms and one of these symptoms is tremors in the hands. It takes your body a long time to adjust so that you are no more drinking alcohol.

It is better to treat alcohol withdrawal with the help of medical experts as more often it is difficult to handle such withdrawal symptoms without medical assistance.

Hypoglycemia

Shakiness in hands or tremors can also be caused due to low levels of blood sugar especially in diabetic patients. The symptoms are more common in such patients who regularly take diabetes medications or insulin.

If you have diabetes, sweat profusely, and feel hungry and if these symptoms are accompanied by shivers then it is probably because of hypoglycemia or low sugar.

Parkinson’s disease

It is a progressive neurological disorder and tremors are its earliest symptoms. These symptoms first start with the hands and later on, spread to all the body parts.

While Parkinson’s disease cannot be cured completely, its symptoms can be controlled with proper medications.

Thyroid condition

If the functioning of the thyroid glands in the body is disrupted it may sometimes produce thyroid hormone in excess.

This condition is called hyperthyroidism. Patients with this condition sometimes experience hand tremors that affect their hands, palms, and fingers.
