World Animal Welfare Day is celebrated on October 4 every year to create awareness among people that the existence of animals on this globe is as important as humans.

While steps are being taken to prevent the flora and fauna in the wilderness many times the stray animals are neglected and deserve care, kindness, and attention.

The World Animal Welfare Day aims to direct the focus of the people in general towards this cause as well so that the stray animals the world over are not treated badly. As a common man, everyone can contribute in one way or the other.

Give them love and kindness

Everyone wants love, kindness, shelter, and attention. Animals are no different. Putting a bowl of water near your garden during hot weather for birds or arranging shade outside your compound for stray dogs and cats can be a way to make them feel comfortable and live better.

During sunny days, the surrounding areas including the floors become very hot. Sprinkling water around and keeping the ground cool helps the stray animals from getting affected due to high heat.

If you have a small area near your garden where it is possible to build a shed, then you can build an economical habitat where cats or dogs can relax when it is hot outside.

Another act of kindness can be calling a vet when you find an ailing stray animal on the street side or someone hit due to a vehicle and is injured.

In many Indian states, there are government units that are ready to offer help to stray animals. Your only duty is to inform them whenever you find such animals in distress or in bad condition.

With just a little act of kindness and love, you can really make this earth a better place for stray animals.
