On February 14, 2019, when the world was busy celebrating Valentine’s Day, 40 soldiers were killed in Pulwama by terrorists. It was a devious suicide attack that was carried out by a local, young Kashmiri boy.

What exactly happened on that tragic day?

At around 9:45 AM a convoy of 78 buses that were carrying Indian paramilitary police in Pulwama was moving on the Srinagar-Jammu highway which was heavily guarded. Exactly at the same time a boy named Adil Ahmad Dar drove a vehicle full of explosives into this convoy leading to the most devastating attack on the Indian Army carried out on Indian soil.

As expected it rattled the entire Indian Force, administration, and government. From newspaper headlines to television newsrooms, the only thing that was discussed for more than a week after this tragic incident was the Pulwama Attack. The families and friends of the soldiers who were killed in this attack were shocked and shattered. Most of them had just come from their homes while some were going home and their families were expecting to meet them soon.

A few were talking with their near ones on cell phones when the explosion took place.

Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack

Hours after the Pulwama attack , the Jaish-e-Mohammad, the militant outfit based in Pakistan took responsibility for the attack by releasing a video online. Immediately after that Adil Ahmad Dar was identified as he can be seen happily getting ready for the attack with no remorse for the act he is going to carry out. The video clip shows Dar saying that he has been a part of the group since 2018 and was glad that he was assigned the task of completing this Pulwama Attack.

It was quite obvious that Dar was brainwashed into believing that what he was doing was a service to humanity because the video shows him saying that by the time the video surfaces, he will be in heaven aka Jannat. More details about Dar emerged over a period that somehow was similar to the disturbing stories of other Kashmiri young boys who turned terrorists.
