Popular South actress Arundhathi Nair, who was critically injured in a tragic road mishap, has been left battling for her life. With no money to pay her hospital bills, Nair’s family members have sought help for her treatment.

Arundhathi needs financial help for her surgery, said fellow actor and close friend Remyaa Joseph.

According to sources, Nair was returning home on a motorbike with her brother when they were hit by an over-speeding autorickshaw near their house in Trivandrum. While her brother suffered minor injuries, Nair has sustained critical injuries.

She has been admitted to the Ananthapuri Hospital. However, financial constraints have become a matter of concern for her family. According to family members, Arundhathi has arm and collarbone fractures and the surgery would cost around Rs 5 lakh.

“I can’t even imagine how much the hospital will charge when they fix her brain. We are waiting for her to stabilize a bit to do further operations, she already had two cardiac arrests,” informed her friend Remyaa.

“She has worked in several films and serials and is mostly known for her role in ‘Thendral Vandhu Ennai Thodum’ and ‘Eeramana Rojave’. Despite the news of her accident going viral, no one has come forward to help her, Remyaa said.

“She has done 5 films in Tamil as the female lead. She is severely injured. Doctors suspect she could be brain dead. Yet, no one from the Tamil industry has contacted us. I know it is not mandatory, but it would have been nice if someone had called and asked how she is doing, forget about monetary help,” he added.

Apart from Tamil movies, Nair has also worked in a Malayalam film.
