Former professional wrestler and American actor Dwayne Johnson stunned Hollywood movie lovers with his stellar performance as a superhero/supervillain in Black Adam. Henry Cavill's cameo in Black Adam in the post-credit scene as Superman was icing on the cake. However, the reports of Henry's exit from DC Universe came as a shocker for all.

After Cavill confirmed the reports of his exit from DC through his social media post, Superman fans around the globe were extremely heartbroken and disappointed.

However, American director Zack Synder’s recent post on his Vero account has sparked the interest of fans. The post has raised excitement among all with the possibility of Cavill returning to play Superman.

Synder recently posted two monochrome images of Cavill as Superman. The post has sparked rumours that the director dropped a hint towards the return of Cavill as Superman. While one of the two images shows a black-and-white image of Cavill, clicked by the director, the other image features text reading:  "MOS BVS ZSJL ‘Life is a cycle, from birth to death to rebirth. And so the hero’s journey is a cycle as well. A continuous journey of growth and transformation.’ April 28 29 30.”

The abbreviations MOS BVS ZSJL refer to Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which were directed by Snyder. Though it is unclear if the images are actually teasing a potential return of Cavill as superman, people have already started speculating.

Here’s what The Rock says…

Dwayne Johnson or The Rock during a conversation with Variety on the 2023 Oscars red carpet was asked about his thoughts on Cavill’s exit from D.

Responding to the question, Dwayne said, “All that I can do, and all that we could do when we were making Black Adam, was to put our best foot forward and surround ourselves with the best people and deliver the best movie we could.”

“Our audience score was in the 90s. Critics took a couple shots, but that’s just the business of it,” he added.

Towards the end of 2022, director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran were made the CEOs of DC Studios, which led to a massive change in the schedule of the upcoming DC Universe projects.

Reacting to this change of charge, Dwayne said, “It’s almost like when you have a pro football team and your quarterback wins championships and your head coach wins championships and then a new owner comes in and says, ‘Not my coach, not my quarterback. I’m going to go with somebody new.'”

For the unversed, The Rock wanted his DC character Black Adam to have a crossover with Superman in their own universe. Later, Henry Cavill was seen in the post-credits scene. Even a couple of months later, Cavill also announced his comeback as Superman.

However, Gunn announced that Cavill will not reprise his role as Superman in DCU as he was writing a new Man of Steel movie that would focus on a younger version of Superman. The film titled Superman: Legacy is slated for a 2025 release.
