Black Adam: New dawn for Dwayne Johnson; sequel and more recent buzz

Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson, popular all over the world as WWE legend ‘The Rock’, is on cloud nine after the overwhelming success of Black Adam across the globe. Following that rumours are abuzz that the makers will come up with Black Adam 2, the sequel soon. 

As per the current updates, the global box office earnings of Black Adam have surpassed $250 million. And considering the overwhelming response of the audience from across the globe including India, it can be said that the number will surely increase in the coming days.

Moreover, with a $67 million opening, this has become Dwayne’s highest opening-day collection as the lead.

A glance into Black Adam

Black Adam is an enslaved man from an ancient civilization who awakens in the 21st century with super-heroic powers. The roots of his motivation are his family and his people, mostly his son. If anyone messes with anything he cares about, he is going to act swiftly and violently. He is the judge, jury, and executioner and he imparts the judgement as per his sense of justice. 

The movie establishes Black Adam as a hesitant anti-hero rather than as a villain. Certainly, that was an interesting dilemma for heroes to deal with.

Henry Cavill returning as Superman in Black Adam’s post-credits scene was certainly the icing on the cake. Though The Rock said that the long-awaited Black Adam vs. Superman fight will still take some time, the audience across the globe is eager to see the duo's big showdown.

Black Adam marks the entry of ‘The Rock’ into the DC Universe which includes icons like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Black Adam’s true comics rival, Shazam. The idea of Black Adam facing all these superheroes in the DC Universe including Superman is undoubtedly thrilling. The audience will definitely want a character to cross paths with all these great heroes. 

Why ‘Scorpion King’ stepped into Black Adam’s shoes

Dwayne rose to fame as a Hollywood actor with several remarkable movies. Among all those, his character as Scorpion King was most applauded by movie lovers. Though all other movies had high-octane actions, he got the opportunity to come on screen with superpowers in Black Adam. 

In the movie, Black Adam wanted to kick the crap out of a lot of guys. Even, he loves to be a disruptive force. Dwayne loved the fact that Black Adam was a character that looked like him. He always wanted to play a character that has a similarity to him. So, he stepped into the shoes of Black Adam. Dwayne loves that Black Adam isn’t a character who can be guided or asked to do something, he’s not a guy one can make do things. His decisions are reserved to him only.

As per the latest reports, the sequel of Black Adam is already on its way and it won’t take long. 

Producer Hiram Garcia was quoted as saying, “The sequel is not going to take that long. I can promise you that, we'll get cooking on it fast, that's for sure."

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Black Adam producers Beau Flynn and Hiram Garcia made the big revelation when asked about a sequel to Black Adam.

Disclosing how long fans will have to wait to witness Black Adam’s return, Flynn said to the audience, "Not to worry, the turnaround will be fast."

Further, Garcia went on to add, “It's not going to take that long. I can promise you that, we always hope the first domino's the easy one, we'll get cooking on it fast, that's for sure."

As of now, there is no script for a Black Adam 2; however, Garcia mentioned that one of their main goals is to establish that Superman exists in the same world as Black Adam.

Garcia was quoted as saying, “Our vision is, what we really want to establish is Superman exists in the same world as Black Adam. Both those guys exist in the same universe and that's important for us. But we really wanted the world to know that these guys are going to cross paths and how we do it, we're still working on it.” 

“We don't want to give that away. But I will say that it's much bigger than what people think," she ended.

Well, that is something interesting! Black Adam and Superman’s faceoff will be the most-awaited moment for the fans. However, as per the makers, the faceoff might not happen anytime soon.
