Ram Gopal Varma recently made his silver screen debut with a cameo in Kalki 2898 AD. The director who is known for making horror movies and on paranormal and supernatural topics does not believe in any religions and is a self-declared atheist. Recently during an interview, the Rangeela director recalled his spooky interaction with famous choreographer Shaimak Davar while they were on a flight together.

During an interview that the famous filmmaker uploaded on his YouTube channel, Ram Gopal Varma revealed that he had an interaction with the Dil Toh Pagal Hai choreographer 15 days after the death of his father. RGV said that this encounter with Shaimak left him highly disturbed. Before that RGV had met Shaimak only once at the house of Amitabh Bachchan and hence did not know him well.

During the flight, Shaimak was seated behind RGV so the director went to him and sat next to him. The two started talking. As the flight took off in the daylight and when they were in the mid-air, Shaimak asked Ram Gopal Varma, “Your father passed away? It was a usual question to ask, but it was true.”

The filmmaker continued, “Fifteen days before this encounter, my father had passed away. So I told him yes. Now, he was in the window seat, and I was in the aisle. He then looked at me for a while, and said, ‘He is here with us.’ I was completely taken aback! And he is a choreographer, I expect such questions from a guy who does some weird…”

When Ram Gopal Varma told Shiamak that he does not believe in all such stuff, the famous choreographer looked behind RGV and said, “He says (RGV’s father) he also never believed in it and is very concerned about you.’ How does he know my father died? That he was an atheist? I had a mixture of emotions, helplessness, anger, and fear. I was very disturbed by that conversation. I suddenly got up and went back to my seat. And I started thinking, ‘How can he know?”

Ram Gopal Varma tried to find out the possibilities that led to Shaimak Davar speculating about his father and even felt that being from the film industry he might have overheard about his father and his death. But he drew a blank.
