After announcing name change, the colour of LAccMI (Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative) bus services has now changed to saffron from green in Odisha's Dhenkanal district.

Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena recently announced that the affordable bus services connecting panchayat to block headquarters will run in the name of ‘Mukhyamantri Bus Seva’. However, there is no clarity on who issued instructions to change the colour of 18 buses in the Dhenkanal bus terminal.

Already six buses have been painted with saffron and white colour.

A painter engaged in the service said, “We started painting the buses yesterday; we have been asked to paint 6 to 7 buses in the first phase.”

It is believed that these newly painted buses will ply to Puri during Rath Yatra. Apart from the colour, 'Mukhyamantri Bus Seva' is also being written on the buses.

Dhenkanal RTO officials said that they have no information regarding the development. Currently, there is no clarity on who has instructed for the change in the colour of the buses, but things will be clear only after getting comments from senior officials of OSRTC.
