Veteran actress Meenakshi Seshadri is an acclaimed Indian actress, model, and dancer who achieved significant fame in the 1980s and 1990s. She made her acting debut in the Hindi film industry with the movie 'Painter Babu' in 1983, however, she got recognition in Hero, opposite Jackie Shroff. Nerve-wrecking kissing scene with Sunny Deol!
During an interview with Zoom, Meenakshi recalled a 'nerve-wrecking' kissing scene with Sunny Deol in Dacait, which was later removed by the censor board.
Notably, Dacait was Meenakshi's first movie with Sunny. Talking about her experience, the actress said, We had a romantic song in which we’re both on a boat before the song starts and he kisses me. It was an actual kiss. It was a little nerve-wracking for me because I am very conservative.”
Further, she stated that though in her first movie 'Painter Babu' she wore revealing clothes, she didn't ever feel like repeating it. So, the kiss scene was 'extreme' for her. However, the scene didn't make it through the censor board and was removed.
However, Meenakshi called Sunny a gentleman and stated that he treated her so well and made her feel comfortable.
The duo had a perfect equation and understanding for which they went on to work together in several movies.
Meenakshi was sacked from Damini for turning down Rajkumar Santoshi's marriage proposal!
Undoubtedly, Damini was a game-changer for Meenakshi and the crime drama emerged as a blockbuster. However, initially, she was sacked from the project and the reason is quite shocking.
During the interview, Meenakshi was asked by the hist about the romantic advances of Rajkumar Santoshi. Responding to the host's query, she revealed that she didn't create a scene about it. She eventually got back the film due to Producers Guild's support.
As per Meenakshi, she was ousted from Damini as she refused Rajkumar Santoshi's marriage proposal.
However, she decided not to talk about it. Though she courageously took the stand, she decided not to comment on it as it was below her dignity to turn it into a fight.
Further, Meenakshi shared how the Producers Guild and Artists Guild came together in her support and made it (Damini) happen.
After Damini, Meenakshi teamed up with Rajkumar Santoshi in Ghatak, which also was a super hit.
