Jee Le Zaraa faces set back! Farhan Akhtar moves on to next

Jee Le Zaraa produced by Zoya Akhtar was announced a few years back with Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Katrina Kaif in the lead. Farhan Akhtar was all set to return to the directorial chair after more than a decade with this movie based on an all-girl road trip.

Reportedly, Ishaan Khatter was even roped in as one of the main male characters which was to be headlined by the three current female superstars of Bollywood.

The Dil Chahta Hai director had also started hunting down shooting locations and going through the script for this movie a couple of months ago and indirectly confirmed that the movie was very much on his priority list. However, things seem to have changed and now the movie has been kept on a back burner.

Farhan Akhtar is currently in talks with Aamir Khan for a Bollywood remake of the Spanish sports comedy Campeones. While Aamir is currently in no mood to return to acting he definitely is interested in producing more movies and reportedly wants the Don Director to headline this film.

Although neither Farhan nor Aamir has confirmed this remake, it seems the former is in the mood to do this male lead and has instead put the much-awaited Jee Le Zaraa on hold.

After completing Aamir Khan’s production venture he is expected to start working on Don 3 which reportedly will be headed by Ranveer Singh. But again, rumours are adrift that Shah Rukh Khan has not yet given a decision on whether he wants to reprise the role of Don or has left the franchise for good.

In between or after this, if Farhan does not have any project then maybe he will start working on Jee Le Zaraa.

Apart from the Lakshya director, it also depends a lot on PeeCee, Kats, and Alia who are currently very busy with their respective projects. Bringing such big actresses who are always short of dates on board for a movie is not going to be easy which may make it difficult for Zoya and Farhan to revive this dream project.
