Darr directed and produced by Yash Chopra was a big hit that established the stardom of Shah Rukh Khan. Although SRK played a negative character in this film that featured Juhi Chawla as the female lead, the way his character was presented on the screen made the audience love him more than Sunny Deol who played the male lead.
Essentially, some of the big and hit songs also were picturised on SRK and Juhi Chawla which somehow indicated that Yash Chopra gave more importance to Shah Rukh Khan’s role than that of Sunny Deol . So, when the movie was released, the audience just kept on raving about the new and young SRK but Sunny, who then was a big actor with two National Awards to his name, got side-lined.
As a result, Sunny Deol vowed never to work and speak with Shah Rukh Khan and for almost two decades both Sunny and Shah Rukh never spoke with each other or even worked with each other. Not surprisingly, they were not even spotted in one frame at any event.

Years later clarifying the same, the Ghayal actor said, “It’s not that I didn’t talk but I just cut myself off and I anyway don’t socialise much. So we never met, toh baat karne ki baat hi nahi hai.”
Has things changed after the massive success of Gadar 2? At least it seems that SRK is in the mood to bury the past and move ahead. In a recent Ask Me session on Twitter, a user asked Badshah Khan whether he had seen Gadar 2 and the Bollywood superstar replied, “Yeah loved it.”
Now this has given both Sunny and SRK fans hope that things have improved between the two actors and maybe they have ended the cold war that started years ago with Darr.
