‘Kasoor’ fame actor, Aftab Shivdasani became a victim of cyber fraud and duped to the tune of Rs 1.50 lakh by online fraudsters, reports said. The matter came to the fore after Mumbai police registered a case in this regard and launched a probe.
According to sources, the ‘Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai’ actor received a message asking him to update his KYC details to his bank, failing which his bank account would be suspended.
Believing it to be true, the actor clicked on the link mentioned in the message and followed all the instructions.
After contacting his bank’s branch manager, Aftab later lodged a police complaint, sources said.
“Aftab lost Rs 1.50L after he received a text message in which he was asked to update his Know Your Customer (KYC) details linked to his bank,” a report in DNA India said.
A case under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 420 (cheating) and sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act has been registered in this connection.
Worth mentioning, Aftab is known for his movies like Mast, Kasoor, Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai, Masti, and Hungama.
