Maldives is facing a boycott from India, one of its biggest sources of tourism after three of its ministers mocked PM Narendra Modi and called him a ‘clown’, ‘terrorist’ and ‘puppet of Israel’. The controversy erupted after Modi posted images of himself snorkeling and walking along a beach in Lakshadweep.
Infuriated with the comments of the ministers, Indians and celebrities decided to shun the sun-kissed getaway for domestic beaches instead. Amidst the controversy, actress Aditi Bhatia subjected herself to trolling after she shared a few pictures from her Maldives vacation.
As per reports, the actress had visited the island nation in December and shared the pictures on her Instagram amidst the row. This led to the brutal trolling of the actress. However, the actress is a travel freak and often shares pictures and memorable videos from her vacations.
A user wrote, “No Maldives, only Lakshadweep… change your direction towards Lakshadweep.”
“Please stop going to Maldives and choose Lakshadweep instead,” commented another fan.
“Tumko mana kiya tha naa Maldives jaane se,” a third user commented.
However, Aditi is yet to react to the ongoing controversy. For the unversed, Aditi began her career as a child artiste when she acted in films like Vivah, Shoot at Lokhandwala, The Train, and Chance Pe Dance. She gained more fame after she appeared in the popular TV Show ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’.
The actress has also appeared in multiple comedy shows on Television.
