Pankaj Tripathi to take a break from acting after 'Main Atal Hoon'; watch

Pankaj Tripathi is playing the character of the erstwhile Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in his biopic Main Atal Hoon. The movie will hit the theaters on January 19, 2024. The promotions for the film have already kick-started with Pankaj giving interviews and sharing interesting things about the movie with the media.

Talking to ANI, the actor however made some shocking revelations which can be highly disappointing for his fans. The promo of the interview shows the OMG 2 actor saying, “Bas Atalji ki film release ho jaye, promotion ka daur khatam ho jaye, main chhod dunga, main tyag dunga. Mera ho jayega. Main bhaut ziddi nahi kahunga par main apane determination ka bada pakka aadmi hoon.”

Now this suggests that either the actor is indicating that he will be taking a break from the movies after Main Atal Hoon or even stop acting altogether. However, these are all speculations derived from the small bite of the promo and Pankaj Tripathi may be referring to leaving something else altogether.

However, if he does take a break from acting or decides to leave the career altogether Indian cinema will lose one of the finest actors of recent times.

During the promo, Pankaj can be seen revealing how he prepared for this iconic role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Sharing the same, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor said “Main dara tha ke unke, shraddeya Atalji ke charitra se kitna nyay kar paunga. Virat Vyaktitva hai. Uss vyaktitva ki kahani 2 ghante ke cinema mein sambhav nahi hai laa pana. Main kitna imitate karuna, kitna mimickry karunga. Muzhe imitation aur mimicry nahi aati. Toh muzhe laga ki aakar ko kyun pakadna. Jo nirakaar hai, uska pakdo na. Aakar toh aaj hai kal nahi rahega.”

Pankaj added, “Jo unke vichar hai, jo vyaktitva hai, jo chetna hai, usko pakdo.” The famous actor who has done some fabulous roles in both Bollywood and OTT releases also narrated his experience of portraying his famous character of Kaleen Bhaiyaa in Mirzapur and how his first shot was undecided and just was like. “Andhere mein teer chalana.”
