Online registrations for the National Entrance Test (NET) for Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) have begun.

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the National Entrance Test to the National Testing Agency (NTA).

As per officials, the Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) provides high quality education to meritorious Scheduled Castes (SCs) students only in CBSE-affiliated reputed residential schools.

As per NTA, approximately 3,000 seats would be provided in class 9 and 11 fully funded by the Central Government. The National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS) will be an offline test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for selecting SC students for admission into Class 9 and 11 whose parental annual income is up to Rs 2.5 lakh.

The schedule of Examination:

Online submission of application form through Website (https://shreshta.nta.nic.in/): March 12 to April 12, 2022 (up to 05:00 pm)

Correction in particulars of application form on the website: April 13 to April 15, 2022 (up to 5:00 pm)

Date of Examination: May 7 2022

Duration: 180 minutes (03:00 Hrs)

Timing of Examination 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Language of the Paper: Bilingual (English & Hindi)

“Candidates who are desirous of applying for the exam may go through the Information Bulletin and apply online at https://shreshta.nta.nic.in/ only during the period between 12.03.2022 to 12.04.2022,” the NTA notice read.
