CBSE term II exams: Board issues important notice on centre code format change, read details

Over 35 lakh students have got themselves registered to take Class 10th or 12th board exams which began across the country from today, informed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

For the Term II exams, the CBSE has made some changes in the format of filling the centre code in the answersheets of Class 10. As per an official circular issued on Monday, the CBSE has issued 6 number digits of centre number instead of previous format of 5 numeric digits.

Some answer books of Class 10 in schools situated in the jurisdiction of regional offices of Patna, Praygraj, Trivandrum, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar and Chennai are having space for entering only 5 numeric digits on the title page of the answer books.

In the circular, the CBSE has asked schools to brief students about the correct method for filing the centre code in the answersheets having space for entering only five digits on the title page.

The CBSE has also asked the concerned examination centres to brief those on invigilation duty about the correct way of entering centre number in case the answer books provided in their rooms are having only 5 numeric digits on the title page.

The invigilators shall brief their students about the correct method of filling the centre code in the answerbooks having space for entering only 5 numeric digits on the title page of the answer books before the start of the examination.
