 A total of 16.85 lakh students have registered for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023. University Grants Commission (UGC) on Tuesday informed that a total of 16.85 lakh students registered for the CUET UG, out of which, 13.995 lakh students paid the application fee and submitted the application form.

In 2022, which was the debut year of CUET-UG, 12.50 lakh students had registered while 9.9 lakh students submitted their applications. In 2023, there is a 41% increase in the total number of students who will sit for CUET-UG, said UGC.

In another notice, UGC said the CUET has been implemented for admission to UG/PG programs at Central and participating universities. The UGC oversees and coordinates the aforementioned program with the National Testing Agency (NTA). The CUET-2023 will be held from May 21 to May 31, 2023, with reserved dates from June 1 to June 7, 2023.

The CUET is an online computer-based test (CBT) for admission to colleges/universities. In its latest notice, the UGC has asked the vice-chancellors of all universities, educational partners, institutes, colleges, universities to support UGC and NTA in this National Duty and reserve their facilities for the CUET.
