One Surendra Das was critically injured after miscreants hurled bombs at him following a dispute over lease of a sand quarry on Thursday. It is pertinent to mention here that local sand mafia was not allowing Surendra and his associates to carryout sand mining in the area.

The youth was subsequently rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to the injuries. It was for the second time that miscreants had attacked Surendra. Earlier, a bomb was hurled at him on March 19.

Meanwhile, the residents of Kalyanpur village staged a demonstration and blocked the Jajpur-Singhpur road in protest of the death of the youth. They demanded the immediate arrest of miscreants involved in bombing incident.
