The Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch on Thursday claimed success after it managed to round up a notorious criminal who was wanted in murder case since 2014.

The accused, Kishore Moharana alias Dhandua, who was absconding for the past eight years was arrested by a team of STF sleuths following a raid which was conducted following intelligence inputs regarding possession of illegal possession firearms at a location. One 9 MM pistol, 5 rounds live ammunition has been recovered from the possession of Dhandua during searches.

It is pertinent to mention here that Dhandua was wanted in connection with the murder of one Deepak Naik at Chandikhole Bazar in 2014.

It was alleged that Dhandua along with some of his associates had shot dead killed Deepak. Though a charge sheet was filed against all the three persons, Dhandua was still absconding.

The Court of District and Sessions Judge, Jajpur had convicted one Sesadev Swain alias Buba in connection with the murder case. However, the trial of Dhandua is still pending as he went underground by dodging the police dragnet.
