Carcass of leopard found in Palamau

Medininagar (Jharkhand): The carcass of a leopard was on Thursday found at Chenpur in Palamau district, DFO of the Medininagar North Division Forest (MNDF), Ram Bharat, said here.

The cause of its death could be ascertained only after a post mortem, Bharat told newsmen here.

The MNDF is situated near the Project Tiger Reserve in Palamau district`s Betla forest and animals often stray away from the reserve forests looking for water, according to the DFO.

Jharkhand is reeling under severe drought for the last two years with Palamau being a rain shadow zone.
