New Delhi: India has sent 10,000 litres of bottled water to Japan, reeling under the devastation caused by twin disaster, and said its search and rescue team of 45 members will leave for that country tomorrow evening.

"Sent 10,000 lit (litres) of botld (bottled) water 2 (to) Jap (Japan). Search n Res (search and rescue) team leaves tmrw (tomorrow) evening - 45 members. Were on standby.

Blankets much apprec. (appreciated)," Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said on the Twitter.

India has already sent a plane-load of woolen blankets required by that country and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has spoken to his Japanese counterpart Naoto Kan on phone and offered any additional assistance his country may need to deal with the devastation caused by the March 11 earthquake of magnitude 9 and tsunami which left over 26,000 people dead or unaccounted for there.
