150 children initiated into learning

New Delhi: Nearly 150 children were today initiated into the world of learning by Supreme Court Justice Cyriac Joseph at a function here.

At `Vidyarambham`,the beginning of education, a function organised by leading newspaper Malayalam Manorama, the children were introduced to the world of knowledge on the occasion of Vijayadashmi.

`Vidyarambham` is a Hindu tradition where children between two and three years of age are formally initiated into the characters of the syllabary.

Besides Joseph, other prominent figures who participated in the function include C V Ananda Bose and Tandtrik Acharya Jayasuryan Bhatthirippad.
