No mutated strain of COVID19 is present among the UK returnees in Odisha. As per information from the Odisha government officials, no new strain of virus has been identified among the samples of UK returnees sent for genome sequencing.
Panic gripped the residents at Ladijodi village under Borigumma block in Koraput district after a sleuth of wild bears entered the village and wreaked havoc. One woman of the village was reportedly injured after being attacked by one of the bears. Villagers said six sloth bears have been found moving around the village at night for last several days.

Riding two-wheeler without a helmet in Odisha will prove costly for riders from this New Year. As per its earlier decision, the Odisha government will ensure strict enforcement of provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. According to the new amendments, a two-wheeler rider would have his Driving License (DL) suspended for three months if found riding the vehicle without wearing a helmet. The law also includes penalty in case a pillion rider is found without a helmet.
