LIL not to have double meaning jokes: Shekhar

Mumbai: Actor Shekhar Suman, who will be seen hosting `Laugh India Laugh` TV show, on Friday said that it would be a "clean and neat" show, without any double meaning jokes.

`Laugh India Laugh`, a new comedy show to be aired on `Life Ok`. Along with Shekhar Suman, actor Chunky Pandey and singer Mika will also be judging the show.

"It is a clean and neat comedy show minus double meaning jokes. TV is a family medium and one can`t show anything bold and all. TV is seen by whole family together, so one can`t show anything that is objectionable," Shekhar said at the event.

Shekhar, who has been part of comedy shows earlier, says he feels proud to be part of this show. "I am proud of the show and not embarrassed," he said.

Co-judge Chunky Pandey feels there are different styles of comedy and making people laugh, depending upon the audience. "This show is a pure, clean family-entertainer. We understand that the audience of TV is different from films. Like I have done this film `Kya Super Kool Hai Hum`, where there are double-triple meaning jokes. So there is this type of comedy – vulgar and then one is clean," he said.

"There are people who want to see `Kya Super Kool Hai Hum` kind of a film. So there is audience for everything," he added.

The daily comedy show will be aired on `Life Ok` channel from July 15 at 10.30 pm. Later, with top 18 contestants from India and Pakistan, the show will be shown on weekend at 10 pm.
