Bollywood has come to a standstill due to lockdown. Big producers like Karim Morani and actors like Purab Kohli have already faced the COVID19 and are slowly recovering. Since coronavirus is so contagious when the government lifts lockdown and the work in most of the sectors comes to normalcy things will have to be planned differently. Even though Bollywood producers will be eager to start with their pending projects and ensure that the completed movies get a good release, they will have to come up with a new set of rules that guarantees no harm to the artists or spread of COVID19.

The major problem is how comfortable will the star cast and the entire team of a film project will be while filming a particular shot. During shooting most of the time, social distancing is simply not possible. Be it doing dance sequences with a group of dancers in the background, doing stunts and fight sequences or even portraying romance and intimate scenes for the silver screen, all such things require the artists to come in very close contact with each other.

How Will Directors Shoot Intimate Scenes?

Almost everyone is wondering whether ‘namaste’ will continue to be the general norm of greeting or will the Bollywood stars get back to hugs and kisses once the COVID-19 lockdown is no more. Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar recently voiced out his concern regarding shooting intimate scenes and the caution everyone would have to make doing them.

On his Instagram account the director of “Piku” wrote, "How the cinema world conducts shooting intimate scenarios in the film to be seen and planned after all this is over. Especially the intimate kissing/hugging scenes. How close or how far.. or cheat storytelling in those intimate scenes for some time."

In response, Dia Mirza wrote, "Guru, the entire process of making a film is intimate! So many people all coming together to create moment after moment in unity and synchronized effort. Aap intimate scene ki baath kar rahe ho, how will all that change? Will we be masked and gloved as a crew? Only time will tell."

Many believe that for some time Bollywood will go back to the old ways of swaying flowers for indicating kisses and romance. There are a few who also believe that henceforth producers will demand a complete health report of the actors and the crew before taking them on board for a project. A medical checkup may become necessary before shooting intimate scenes especially kisses and bed scenes to avoid the spread of this deadly coronavirus.
