Man kills elder brother over family dispute

Nabrangpur: A man killed his elder brother in Kerandi village under Papadahandi block of Nabrangpur district over suspected family dispute.

On April 19, one Tularam Majhi was hit by a wooden plank by his younger brother Kanei Majhi following a heated argument between them over some family issues.

Tularam, who sustained grievous injuries in the attack, was rushed to Dabugana hospital and then shifted to Nabrangpur Hospital after his condition deteriorated. However, he later succumbed to the injuries on Saturday.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem and arrested the accused, Kanei.

"There had been some dispute within the family. A quarrel erupted between the two brother on Friday following which the accused attacked Tularam, who succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment yesterday," said Umarkote SDPO, Hemanta Kumar Padhi.
