Science Express on display in Nagpur from Sep 30
Nagpur: Science Express, the customised 16 coach AC train displaying the biodiversity and climate change, will be open for public viewing here for two days from September 30.
The exhibition is a joint initiative of Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), an official release said on Sunday.
Since its launch in October 2007, the Science Express exhibition train has covered over 68,000 kms across the country with over 65 lakh visitors at its 230 halts over 830 exhibition days.
The exhibition aims to create awareness on biodiversity of India, climate change and similar issues among people, specially the students, it said.
Of the 16 coaches of SEBS, eight coaches showcase the myriad biodiversity spread across the bio-geographical zones of India and their linkage with livelihoods, besides challenges of conservation.
Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC) and Centre for Environment Education (CEE), both from Ahmedabad, along with the knowledge partners have developed and put up the exhibition-on-wheels, it added.
