Sambalpur: Tension ran high on premises of Sadar Hospital in the city on Thursday when family members of a four-year old girl child alleged a doctor’s negligence in treatment of the baby.

Relatives of the child and locals demanded strict action against the concerned doctor. However, the situation was brought under control after police intervened into the matter.

Notably, the family of the child who hails from Paradeshipada in the city brought the girl for treatment to the hospital suspecting her to be suffering from jaundice. But the doctor wrote some medicines after primary care of the girl and let her leave for home.

Sources said the girl child died immediately after taking the prescribed medicine.

The family members of the child said if the girl was in serious condition why she was not admitted in the hospital.
