A self-proclaimed Khalistani preacher, Amritpal is the head of Waris Punjab De, which is an organization of radicals founded by Deep Sidhu. Amritpal Singh is allegedly involved in several disputes, kidnappings and issuing death threats. Recently, he had issued a threat to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying he will meet the same fate as that of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
