Delhi Pollution: Five Delhi-Bound Flights Diverted To Jaipur & Dehradun Due To Poor Visibility

On Monday, five Delhi-bound flights were diverted due to low visibility at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Four flights were redirected to Jaipur, and one to Dehradun. Along with flight disruptions, dense smog in Delhi-NCR led to significant delays in railway services. Several trains, including Purushottam Express, Shramjeevi Express, Jammu Mail, and others, were running behind schedule as of 6 AM. The fog and poor visibility were caused by a combination of adverse weather and high levels of air pollution, which caused the air quality index (AQI) to hit a "severe plus" level. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI was recorded at 487 by 11 AM, worsening the already difficult conditions in the national capital.
